A HOUSING developer held a bug hotel building event at its Longhedge Village development in Salisbury.
The event, held ahead of National Gardening Week, saw visitors learnt how to make an outside home for wildlife and bugs, before getting hands-on with the build.
The workshop was designed to help the Old Sarum wildlife community – spiders, woodlice, centipedes and all.
Sales consultant at Bovis Homes, who organise the event, Nicola Martin said: “Now we’re in spring, we thought it would be fun to hold a bug hotel building workshop, which families could get involved in together. It was especially lovely to see the children absorbed in the task and we were really impressed with their finished bug hotels.
“Bovis Homes is committed to helping the local wildlife and we’re also installing some hedgehog highways at the development to enable hedgehogs to roam freely to find food, mates and shelter.”
