HERE are six people that have been in court this week for offences committed in or around Salisbury.
GAVIN CLOSIER, 44, of Barnard Street, Salisbury, was given an 18 months Community Order, 20 RAR days, six-month drug rehabilitation requirement, £100 fine and £100 comp to the victim (nurse).
He had been charged with assaulting a nurse working at Salisbury District Hospital on November 4, 2022. The nurse had been acting in the exercise of her functions as such a worker.
Closier had also been charged with causing without reasonable excuse on NHS premises (Salisbury Hospital) a nuisance / disturbance, on the same date. He also refused without reasonable excuse to leave the premises when asked to do so by a constable.
Finally, he had been charged with theft from shop, after stealing wine and deodorant to the value of £9.99 belonging to Home Bargains in Salisbury on September 17, 2022.
Rose, a market trader, pleaded guilty at Salisbury Magistrates Court, and was fined £40, ordered to pay council costs of £645.96 and £16 Victim Surcharge, for a total of £701.96, on Tuesday, April 11.
JAMES CROSBIE-DAWSON, of Overton Basingstoke, was ordered to pay £1,687,71 after permitting an unfit cow to be exposed for sale at Southern Counties Auctioneers, Salisbury, while showing clinical signs of mastitis.
Fined £512, a surcharge to fund victim services of £205, and costs of £970.71. Defendant's guilty plea taken into account when imposing sentence.
GLYN ANTONY MCSORLEY, 50, of Philip Court, Salisbury, pleaded guilty to speeding.
McSorley drove 49mph in a 40mph zone, on the M32 Severn Beach Rail line overbridge to the end of the M32 Southbound.
Fined £146, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32, and costs of £90.
Driving record endorsed with three points.
THOMAS SIMON RICAUD, 55, of Bishopdown Road, Salisbury, was caught driving 56mph in a 40 zone on the A38 Bridgwater Road, Cross, in Somerset.
They were fined £440, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £176, and costs of £90. Driving record endorsed with four points.
QUAID HARKESS, 23, of Castle Donington, Leicestershire, has been banned from driving after being convicted of drink driving.
He was stopped on Meerut Road, Tidworth, by officers from Team 2 on the evening of March 1 for a minor traffic offence.
However, after speaking to Harkess, officers suspected he had been drinking alcohol. There were four passengers in the vehicle at the time.
He was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and taken to custody where he provided a positive evidential breath test and was later charged.
Harkess appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court and was disqualified from driving for 17 months, fined £311 and ordered to pay a further £209 in surcharges and court costs.
