Two fire crews were called to a fire in Amesbury after a toaster caught fire, leading to its complete destruction.
The incident occurred at 11.41am Tuesday, April 4 near the corner of High Street and The Centre in Amesbury.
The occupants of the residence managed to stop the fire by unplugging the device before fire crews arrived.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue has advice on its website regarding fire safety in kitchens, where it says more than half of accidental domestic fires start.
The advice includes ensuring that toasters are properly cleaned of crumbs regularly, to never insert anything metal into the toaster, place toasters away from curtains, kitchen rolls, and never underneath an overhanging cupboard or against another appliance.
