TWO children have been cast in the English Youth Ballet's production of Swan Lake.
George Earley, 9, from Whiteparish and Annie Harley, 16, from Salisbury were selected to be part of the cast of the English Youth Ballet's (EYB) production following competitive auditions at the King's Theatre in Portsmouth.
George will be taking on the roles of the Tsar's Nephew and a Neopolitan dancer, while Annie will play a Swan.
Subsequently, the pair now have the chance to experience the life of a professional dancer as they participate in rehearsals.
They are "super excited", to be performing alongside international professional dancers in the production which will take place at the King's Theatre in Portsmouth between Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29.
Lyndsey Fraser is a Principal dancer at EYB and will be starring as Odile, The Black Swan herself in the production.
She has previously danced with the Vienna Festival Ballet.
She said: “I wish I had danced with EYB when I was young, the dancers learn so much about performance skills and the artistry of ballet."
She added: "I love working as a principal dancer with EYB because I get to dance fantastic roles and teach and watch the young dancers progress.
"The sets and costumes in the production are superb and the whole experience is one the young dancers and the audiences will never forget.”
