BOTH carriages of the A303 have been shut following a two-car crash.
Severe delays have been reported at the section of the main road near Winterbourne Stoke.
Wiltshire Police urged drivers to take alternative routes.
The incident took place at around 2.30pm on Thursday, March 2.
A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic collision on the A303 between Winterbourne Stoke and Deptford at 2.33pm this afternoon.
"Two crews from Salisbury are currently in attendance at the incident which involves two cars – the incident is ongoing so there is no further information at present."
