POLICE have confirmed that they are investigating reported vandalism to a new statue in Salisbury.
The giant art installation, which the artist Dan Barton said depicts the "futility of war", is thought to have been damaged between midnight and 6am on Saturday, February 25.
Offensive language was sprayed across the back of the sculpture using red paint.

Within hours of notifying Salisbury City Council, the Street Scene team cleaned off the graffiti but red smear marks still remain over the words 'I Want To Live'.
Wiltshire Police is carrying out enquiries to find out who vandalised the artwork.
