A THEATRE company is returning to Larmer Tree Gardens with two chilling and thrilling tales this week.
Nunkie Theatre Company will be appearing at the Wiltshire venue on Friday, February 24.
Robert Lloyd Parry will be performing Count Magnus and Number 13, both by M. R. James.
In Count Magnus, a travel writer’s over-inquisitiveness leads to a breathless, diabolical chase from darkest Sweden to rural Essex.
In Number 13, a hotel room with the famously unlucky number conceals a ghastly and baffling secret.
A spokesperson said: "Over a century after their first publication, these ghost stories retain their power to terrify and amuse.
"Robert Lloyd Parry's resemblance to the author has left many an audience member dumbfounded, and he recreates James' entertainments in a truly atmospheric way, illuminated by candlelight and underscored by dread."
Robert Lloyd Parry has appeared on television portraying M. R. James in Mark Gatiss' BBC Two documentary, M. R. James: Ghost Writer.
