A Wiltshire MP is set to star in a Channel 4 documentary alongside his mother – Bake Off’s Prue Leith - tonight (February 16).
Danny Kruger, the Conservative MP for Devizes, will join his mum on our screens this month when he appears on Prue and Danny’s Death Road Trip.
The pair, who hold opposing views on several issues, will be taking a transatlantic trip to explore the issue of assisted dying.
Prue, 82, is strongly in favour of assisted dying and says her opinion was shaped by the suffering of her brother during his final days.
Mr Kruger on the other hand, is firmly against it. The duo will attempt to resolve their differences by meeting people on both sides of the debate during the documentary.
In a tweet promoting the new show, production company Love Productions said: “Prue Leith supports assisted dying. Her son, Danny Kruger, is against it. Can a transatlantic trip, meeting people on both sides of the debate, resolve their differences?”
This is not the first time Prue has been outspoken against her son’s political opinions.
Last year she disagreed with his controversial comment that he didn’t agree that “women have an absolute right to bodily autonomy”, made during a debate on abortion in the commons.
The show will air on Thursday, February 16, at 9pm on Channel 4.
