LAND and parking spaces in North Dorset have been sold at an auction for several thousands of pounds.
A final bid for land and parking spaces, in Cotswold Close and Cheviot Way in Verwood, has been sold for £5,000 at auction.
Listed as one lot, they are among 142 lots in the first of eight auctions this year by Clive Emson Auctioneers, the regional land and property auctioneers covering southern England.
Rob Marchant, auctioneer, said: “There was keen interest and a final bid of £5,000 was made for the pieces of land and visitor parking spaces at Cotswold Close and Cheviot Way.
“The land and parking spaces may offer potential for alternative uses, subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.
“However, we are not privy to any plans the new owner may or may not have for the acquired land.”
A circular parcel of freehold land at Comet Way, Christchurch, went for £5,400, more than twice the guide price, and an “irregular” parcel of land close fetched £1,015.
Rob added: “Pockets of land in residential areas are always of interest – one to the east of Christchurch sold at our December auction in a bidding war, with the final bid of £9,250 more than four times the guide price.”
Clive Emson Auctioneers’ next auction ends on March 22, with bidding opening 48 hours beforehand.
