IF YOU had to describe the city of Salisbury to others, you may not view it in the same way as in TikTok’s ‘A guide to Salisbury’ video which takes a humorous but rather sardonic look at the city itself.

The video isn’t meant to be taken seriously, which is just as well as PhilC84 - a TikTok enthusiast with a massive following makes it his mission to dissect the best and worst of Salisbury in an eclectic mix of short clips.

Often pronouncing the city as, ‘“Sal-is-bu-roy”’ he starts with a question to his 456.5k followers and said: “You know it for its cathedral and its Russian chemical attack, but is there anything else to this place? Well, not really.”

Fretting about the comments? Well, don’t take it to heart. This is TikTok and many of the videos are over-the-top. Humour works well on TikTok and it appeals to a younger audience.

Based on forecasts released in May 2021, the number of TikTok users in the UK is expected to reach almost 15 million users in 2025 and videos such as the one covered here are always going to be popular.

PhilC84 found his niche travelling to other cities and lashing them all with his own unique brand of ‘travel tourism’ humour and listening to his other videos, Salisbury may have escaped lightly.
