The annual general meeting of the Friends of Fordingbridge Museum will take place on Thursday, February 16 at the Avonway Community Centre in Fordingbridge.
Philippa Duckworth will give a talk on the creation of the museum from a private collection of artefacts to the fully developed popular institution we know today.
Philippa, a trustee of the museum, said: “Fordingbridge Museum is now well established and popular, but it started with a few items a local builder collected to educate his young daughter.
"My talk will be a light-hearted anecdotal account of the triumphs and the traumas, the pitfalls and the personalities involved in the setting up of the museum.”
Philippa, who was a past chair and manager of the museum, has built up a wealth of knowledge about the history of Fordingbridge and the surrounding area.
The meeting will be at the Avonway Community Centre and will start at 2.30pm with the formal meeting followed by refreshments.
Philippa’s talk will start at 3.15pm.
