A SHOP was broken into on Christmas morning, with thousands of pounds worth of stock stolen. 

It is the third time in around 16 months that My Comic Soda Bar, now 45-49 Catherine Street, has been the victim of such a crime.

The shop was first broken into in August 2021, when it was located on Blue Boar Row. 

On that occasion, it had all its cash tins taken from behind both till areas, with several days' takings stolen, leaving the shop owners feeling "betrayed". 

In March of this year, it moved into the new premises on Catherine Street. 

This time, at least two people gained entry into the shop just before 6am on December 25, smashing their way through the glass door with an unidentified object. 

They then spent around an hour-and-a-half ransacking the business, taking a "vast quantity" of designer clothes, trading cards, and toys, leaving a trail of mess behind them. 

The shop owners, who do not wish to be named, received a message on Facebook from a customer at around 9am on Sunday morning alerting them to the break-in.

They have said it ruined their Christmas and was "absolutely soul destroying".

Some of the clothes stolen included brands such as Stone Island, Palm Angels, Canada Goose, CP Company, Moose Knuckles, and Alexander McQueen, among others. 

As well as the loss of valuable stock, the owners estimate it will cost them around £1k to get the door fixed. 

"The whole of Christmas was ruined", they said. 

They added: "We were just left thinking, 'Why has this happened to us again?'.

"We are a hard-working independent business and we have been targeted three times now. Why should we bring our business to Salisbury when these scum bags are doing this to us?

"We are open seven days a week, we work 12 hours a day, to get our business up and running in Salisbury, and this is what happens.

"It is absolutely soul-destroying". 

One of the two business owners is now contemplating whether they should just completely close the shop to avoid another burglary. 

Wiltshire Police said: "We were called on Christmas Day to reports of damage to the front door of My Comic Soda Bar on Catherine Street in Salisbury.

"It was found that the premises had been broken into, with clothing, a small quantity of "cash as well as other items of stock being taken from the store. An image of a suspect was captured on CCTV.

"Anyone who recognises the person in the image or who has other information about the incident is asked to contact us on 101 quoting log 54220134756".
