A new headteacher will be appointed at Godolphin School next year.

Jenny Price has been deputy head pastoral at the school since 2018 and said she is "thrilled" to be shaping Godolphin's next chapter.

She will take up the position in January 2023 when the current head Emma Hattersley moves to London after leading the school for nine years.

Jenny studied music at Durham University and gained a postgraduate certification in education from Cambridge.

She said: "I am thrilled to have been appointed as the next head of Godolphin.

"I am truly committed to the School and believe firmly in its values and purpose and look forward to steering the School through to its 300 anniversary in 2026 and to shaping the next chapter in Godolphin’s history.”

Chair of governors Sir Nick Pope described Jenny as an "embodiment of passion, energy, enthusiasm, spirit and drive".

He added: "She has the total support of the governors and senior management team and, with her experience, is uniquely well placed to lead the school at the executive level from day one."

Jenny taught music at Bryanston School and was housemistress of Greenleaves House before moving to Westonbirt School as deputy head pastoral in 2012.

Godolphin, founded in 1726, is an independent boarding and day school for girls at Milford Hill in Salisbury.
