As Salisbury gathers to pay its respects and remember the sacrifices of servicemen and women, here is the weather you can expect if you are attending a memorial event.

Observed every year since 1919, Remembrance or Armistice Day is marked on the anniversary of the end of World War I on November 11.

Remembrance Sunday falls on the second Sunday of November which means that it will be observed on November 13.

Services are being planned across the county to commemorate the contribution of the Armed Forces and their families from Britain and the Commonwealth.

Met Office weather forecast for Remembrance Day in Salisbury

The Met Office has predicted that Armistice Day will start out overcast but it will clear by early evening.

Temperatures are expected to range from 9C to 15C and it should be dry throughout the day, ranging from less than 5% to a 10% chance of rain.

It might feel a bit breezy with gusts reaching a high of 26mph but this will ease off into the weekend.

Looking onwards to Sunday, the day will start off cloudy and it will clear off by the evening.

We can expect highs of 14C and lows of 10C throughout the day.

It will feel less breezy than Friday and it should be dry with only a less than 5% to 10% chance of rain.

BBC weather forecast for Salisbury on Remembrance Day

The BBC predicts that Salisbury will see light cloud with a moderate breeze on Friday. 

There is a low chance of rain, peaking at 16% at 6 am, and it will brighten up from around 4 pm in the afternoon. 

Temperatures are expected to range from 8C to a high of 16C.
