A MAN was taken to hospital after a crash on the A338 and is reported to have sustained "life-changing injuries".
Police were called to the collision involving a motorbike and a car on the A338 in the Charlton All Saints area yesterday (Thursday, October 27) at around 2.45pm.
A road closure was put in place between the Nunton interchange and Downton Industrial Estate roundabout.
Fire and ambulance crews were also at the scene.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to an RTC between a motorbike and a car at around 2.45pm yesterday (October 27) on the A338.
“A man in his 40s was taken to Salisbury District Hospital with reportedly life-changing but not life-threatening injuries.
“The road was closed for several hours but reopened around 7pm.”
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "One fire engine from Salisbury was mobilised to an RTC at Charlton all Saints at 4.50pm.
"On arrival firefighters found an RTC involving one motorcycle and one car and assisted with casualty care until the ambulance service arrived.
"The stop message came in at 3.12pm and the crew left the scene shortly after."
