A CAMPER van stolen in Downton was found abandoned and burnt out across the border in Hampshire.
The Volkswagen camper van was reported stolen from Moot Lane at around midday on October 24.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We have received a report that a Volkswagen camper van was stolen from Moot Lane in Downton at approximately midday on October 24.
"The vehicle was later located in the Hampshire area near the Wiltshire border burnt out. Enquiries are currently ongoing."
Firefighters, including crews from Fordingbridge and Salisbury, were called out to reports of a burnt out vehicle in the Rockbourne area on Monday evening.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fordingbridge and DWFRS [Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service] firefighters were called after a motorhome was destroyed in a blaze in Rockbourne on Monday evening shortly before 8pm.
"A gas cylinder was also involved in the fire which was stopped using compressed foam jets and a hose reel.
"Crews left the scene at 9.06pm."
PCSO's from Fordingbridge and Ringwood also attended the scene and a road closure was put in place.
A post on the Fordingbridge Cops Facebook page added: "Thank you for the patience of those that had to be diverted away from the location. We understand its frustrating, but the road closures are in place to protect you, protect us and ensure we get the job done correctly and safely."
