A TEACHER is taking the step up from deputy to headteacher at a New Forest school.
Jamie Anderson will take over from Nigel Pressnell at Arnewood School in New Milton in January.
Arnewood is part of the Gryphon Multi-Academy Trust along with Eaglewood School. Mr Pressnell is set to become the trust's new chief executive officer.
It was also recently revealed that Arnewood, Eaglewood, Priestlands School in Lymington, Ringwood School and The Burgate School in Fordingbridge are in talks about forming a new academy trust.
Mr Anderson, who is currently deputy headteacher at Bournemouth School, said: “I am delighted to be joining The Gryphon Trust as headteacher of Arnewood School in January.
“I have been extremely impressed with the commitment of the school to provide the best experiences and support for students and see it as a privilege to lead the school into the next phase of its development.
Mr Pressnell said: “I am delighted we have recruited a first-class school leader in Mr Anderson.
“We had a very strong field in July and he impressed the appointment panel with his clear vision for taking the school forward and maintaining its excellent provision from Key Stage 3 through to sixth form.”
