MUCH can be sorted out over a cup of coffee and a slice of cake and that is the aim of the ‘Celebrate Older People Day’ community event taking place this weekend.
Set up by Age UK and Silver Salisbury, the coffee morning will be held at the Quaker House in Wilton Road from 10am to 12 noon on Saturday, September 24.
Visitors can spend a relaxing few hours visiting the garden and sharing helpful hints and tips to combat financial concerns while enjoying the food and drink on offer.
Chief executive officer at Age UK Wiltshire, Sarah Cardy said: “This coffee morning will be a great opportunity to share how we can help each other with rising costs, including electricity and energy bills and food prices.
“We will outline the services we run and talk about our Advice and Information service, Meals Delivery, support with energy costs and share information on pension credits and other support available.”
There is no need to book.
Sarah added: “We would love for people to come along and find out information that might help them, their neighbour or family member.”
Age UK Wiltshire will also attend the International Older Peoples Day Event taking place at the Guildhall on Tuesday, September 27.
