A MOTORCYCLIST in her 50s has died after a crash near Chitterne.

A motorbike travelling along the B390 from Chitterne towards Shrewton collided with a van which was stationary on the side of the road at around 2.25pm yesterday (Saturday, September 17).

Police say the female motorcyclist fell from her bike and was in collision with a coach passing in the opposite direction.

A statement from Wiltshire Police said: "Sadly, the motorcyclist, a woman in her 50s, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

"Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time.

"We’re appealing to any motorists who witnessed the incident or might have dash cam footage to contact us now."
