NICK Holmes was sufficiently impressed by the turnout for the first multi-terrain run to be staged by Salisbury City to predict it would become an established part of the club's sporting calendar.
"A lot of people registered on the day itself which meant we had around 300 people taking part," explained the Whites boss, who was one of those completing the course on Sunday.
"The weather was perfect and everyone seemed to enjoy it."
As well as the highly competitive 10km race, a 5k run/walk helped form the Old Sarum Challenge.
Pete Roper was the first athlete home in an impressive time of 34.19 minutes - fully three minutes ahead of runner-up Stuart Shilston.
Keirsten Rayneard was the first female runner to complete the course, which took in Old Sarum and Stratford Sub Castle.
City of Salisbury athletes triumphed in the team competition.
