HEALTH Alert was the topic of the day for Burley Primary School children as they delved into world food problems past and present.
The children learnt about all sorts of issues relating to food and health such as the work of John Boyd Orr who introduced free school milk and was responsible for food policy during World War II.
They explored issues such as whether rationing for food would be a good idea with the health of our nation today. Other teams of children took a scientific angle went on to learn about micro- organisms in milk.
Class teacher Claire Threw said: "The day went really well. It was very successful and the children learnt a great deal."
