CHANGES to bus timetables in Salisbury will affect commuters from September 4 with some services becoming more frequent and others ceasing altogether.
For those travelling on Bank Holiday Monday, Salisbury Reds have announced the following:
A Sunday service will be run on most routes apart from Park & Ride PR3, PR7, PR9, PR11 and PR15 – these routes will have a Bank Holiday service. The R3, R7 and R11 will not be running on Bank Holiday Monday.
From September 4, the new timetables come into place. Passengers are advised to check the changes before travelling.
R1 – On Saturdays - an extra bus will run from the city centre to the District Hospital at 7am. It will return from the main entrance at 7.07am. On Sundays – daytime frequency will increase back to every 15 minutes between the city centre and Bemerton Heath.
Most journeys will have minor changes to times.
R2 – An extra bus will run between the city to Bishopdown and Laverstock at 7.55pm – Monday-Saturday.
R4 – The city centre bus stop (K) will change to outside Castle Street (Tesco) instead of Endless Street. There will be a revised timetable. The X4 will continue to serve Stratford Road and Waters Road in the evenings and on Sundays.
R5 – The frequency has increased to every 30 minutes – Monday-Saturday.
R6 – There will be minor timing changes to most journeys.
PR7 – The 7.48 am bus on schooldays going from Dunstable Crossroad and Pitton to the city centre will not be running and will be replaced by the re-routed 87 which will serve Pitton at 7.52 am.
R8 – Buses to the city centre will terminate in Castle Street instead of Blue Boar Row. Most journeys will have minor changes to times.
R10 - An extra bus will run at 6.30am on Monday – Friday and on 6.45am on Saturdays from St Peters Place to the city centre. This bus will continue to the District Hospital as the R1 which arrives at 6.56am or 7.10 am.
Buses will increase to every 30 minutes during Monday-Saturday daytime.
X4 – Most journeys will have minor timing changes. Some bus journeys in the morning will leave Salisbury earlier to improve the time of arrival in the city centre.
X5 – The timetable will have fewer journeys, but an extra bus will run at 07:25 am from Swindon to Marlborough which will replace the 680 school bus to St John’s School.
44/44A There will be a revised timetable and some buses will run earlier and some later.
The 2.47pm from Morgans Vale to Downton will not go via Moot Lane. The 4.15pm bus from Salisbury will terminate at Woodfalls and will no longer go to Woodgreen. The 5.05pm bus from Morgans Vale to Salisbury will run every day including school holidays.
The 44A bus from Fordinbridge will no longer run. The X3 bus should be used.
87 – The 7.28 am bus from Lopcombe Corner to Salisbury will divert via Pitton at 7.52am. This will replace the PR7. This bus will now arrive 5 minutes later into the city centre.
The 287 buses will run 5 minutes earlier in the morning.
The 675 will start and finish at the bus stop in the centre of Amesbury and will no longer serve Sling, Bulford Camp, Village or London Road Amesbury.
The 694-bus route will no longer run. Passengers are advised to contact Trafalgar School for information.
