TASTE Salisbury is back for the second year bringing a celebration of food and drink across the city.

Organised by Salisbury BID and Salisbury City Council, visitors to the city will have a whole programme of events to participate in and can select from a variety of special promotions, and discounts.

Some of Salisbury’s businesses are working collaboratively to bring a little extra to their visitors.

Andy Maul, Owner of Maul’s Cheese & Wine Bar said:

“This will be the first time all four members of the Salisbury Food Quarter will be working together to create our own food common vision, The Fish Row Food Festival, hoping to encourage the people of Salisbury to visit each member of Fish Row for their weekly shopping needs.

“As the city's permanent independent cheesemonger, we certainly want to showcase the best cheeses to rival supermarkets – so there is no excuse not to stop by and say hi on Saturday 3rd September.”

David Hancock - co-owner of Deacons, Tinga and Caboose with his wife Aimee said: “Salisbury is a city with a lot to offer, but we need to stand out from the crowd if we are to attract visitors and new people to the area. Taste Salisbury is one way we can do that, and by working together, as a business community, we can create an event that puts Salisbury on the map.

“It's also a great way of promoting our own business, and what we do, to the local community.”

The event starts on Friday August 26 and culminates on September 4 for Foodie Sunday.

There will be an array of local food producers and suppliers in the Salisbury Market Place. Visitors to the event will be able to participate in food tastings and watch food demonstrations.

With many food vendors, there will be something for everyone plus live music and the Great Salisbury Bake Off event.

Dan Collins, Salisbury BID business manager said: “How great it is that the business community is embracing Taste Salisbury but also, how important the continued support from the local community is.

He added: “This is not just about celebrating food and drink but celebrating the city coming together as a whole.”
