AN ALDERBURY woman was rushed to hospital after she was rescued from a fire at her home.
The blaze started just before 11pm on Saturday night at the house on the Spiders Island estate.
Neighbours attempted to rescue Charlotte Alder who was trapped inside but they were beaten back by the flames and smoke.
It is believed the fire started in an upstairs bedroom and spread to other parts of the house.
Three fire engines from Salisbury and Wilton attended the fire, along with a control unit from Devizes.
Fire-fighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a hosereel and thermal imaging camera quickly located and rescued Ms Alder who was taken to hospital by ambulance.
A hospital spokesman described her condition as "satisfactory".
Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
The fire service said that a smoke alarm was fitted in the house and reminded householders to check theirs on a weekly basis.
