A-level pupils across the country celebrated results day yesterday, with some partying the night away and others spending time with family.

Teachers from schools and colleges in the Salisbury area let us know how proud they are of their pupils, who have worked so hard during tough times.

This year, A-level students sat their first exams since GCSE exams were postponed because of the Covid pandemic.

Salisbury 6th Form College

50 per cent of pupils at S6C achieved A* - B in their A Levels. 80 per cent achieved A*-C with a pass rate overall of 99.6 per cent.

The majority of pupils received confirmed places at their first choice university.

Head of College, Louise Henderson said: "The challenges that Covid has presented have meant staff have gone above and beyond in their love and care for our students and have been there to support them through these complex educational times."

Ringwood School

This year the percentage of top grades (grades A*/A/B) achieved by Ringwood School pupils is 65.4 per cent.

The percentage of A*-C grades at A-Level is 88 per cent and the average grade at the centre this year is grade B.

Twenty four of Ringwood School's students secured at least three grades at A*/A.

Headteacher Mrs Symonds said: "Our students are now embarking on the next stage of their journey with many heading off to university this autumn to read a wide and interesting range of subjects."
