DAMERHAM and District Horticultural Society returned with its 95th summer show.
The event, which had been unable to take place in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid, was held on Saturday, July 30, on the sports field.
Despite the hot and dry weather over the past month which has made gardening difficult, the society says there was a “very large entry”. Adding: “All classes had large, competitive entries and the judges had an arduous task - especially the culinary judge”.
Among the winners were the Musker brothers in the Novice Classes, Madeleine Nicholls in the vegetable classes, Helen Mullens in the flowering classes and Imogen Giles in the culinary section.
Jan Burnell was awarded best exhibit in the flower arranging classes and Mary Ford won the Banksian Medal for overall successes.
A spokesperson for the society said: “After a two year break this show had a record attendance – the marquee was crowded with visitors for the whole afternoon.”
