A SALISBURY hairdresser has made it onto the shortlist of a prestigious Men’s Hairdresser of the Year title.
George Smith from Toni&Guy submitted four photographic images that demonstrated his men’s hairdressing expertise along with his creative ability and technical skill in the HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards 2022.
George said: “This is such a proud moment for me. These awards always bring together such exceptional talent and to see my name alongside those shortlisted is mind-blowing.
“I’d love to bring the trophy back to Salisbury and hope the judges will recognise the love and hard work that has gone into my collection.”
Jayne Lewis-Orr, executive director of HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards said: “Every year, HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards serve as a reminder of the passion, artistry, and expertise that this incredible industry has to offer.
“It is a privilege to celebrate the talent and brilliance of creative individuals from across the country. In reaching the finals, George has demonstrated excellence in all areas of men’s hairdressing, as well as an ability to bring together the magical elements that make a photographic collection stand out from the competition.”
Sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional, the awards are now in their 38th year and celebrate the achievements of stylists from across the United Kingdom.
Categories are judged anonymously by over 100 leading hairdressers, including salon owners, previous winners, session stylists and celebrity stylists.
In the next round, George will have to submit an additional four images and the winners will be announced on Monday November 28 in London.
