MORE than 35 firefighters battled a barn fire in Bisterne.
Crews from Ringwood and Fordingbridge were called to the incident on Dragon Lane at 3.07pm yesterday (Thursday, July 28) where two barns were "well alight".
Firefighters from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, including crews Wilton and Verwood also attended.
The barns contained approximately 25 tonnes of straw, which Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service say fuelled the fire. No persons or animals were involved.
The firefighters worked with the farmer to control the burn.
By around 10.25pm the incident was scaled back and firefighters had dampened down the scene using jets and hose reels.
