A LEARNER driver on his way to take his driving test had his vehicle seized by police for driving offences.
The driver came to the attention of officers in Amesbury on patrol in an unmarked police vehicle, who described a black Kia Ceed being driven in a "manner far below that expected of a competent and careful driver".
Officers also noticed that the vehicle was displaying 'L' plates but couldn't see any other people in the vehicle and it was subsequently stopped on the A345 Workhouse Hill layby.
A police spokesperson said: "The driver was a Provisional licence holder only, driving without appropriate insurance en route to take his driving test in Salisbury city centre.
"Driver reported for Driving Otherwise than in Accordance with a Licence and No Insurance. Vehicle seized under Section 165 Road Traffic Act."
