FIREFIGHTERS have now left the scene of a fire in Tidworth.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service says that all appliances have now left the scene but a reinspection is due to take place this evening.
More than 20 fire appliances were called to the the incident in Jagdalik Road, which was reported yesterday (Tuesday, July 26) at 9.45am.
The incident involved a fire within a stable block, used as offices and storage.
Firefighters found the roof “well alight” when they arrived at the scene.
Crews at the scene included Salisbury, Pewsey, Marlborough, Chippenham, Stratton, Devizes and Warminster with assistance from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, including firefighters from Fordingbridge and two fire crews from Andover.
On Tuesday, Aspire Defence confirmed that a fire alarm was triggered in a Grade II listed building known as The Stables on the MOD estate at Tidworth, which it says is used as offices and a store by Aspire Defence and the MOD.
A spokesperson for Aspire Defence said that “all occupants were safely evacuated” and “emergency services arrived on site quickly”.
