STUDENTS from Salisbury College took time out from their academic schedules to show off their head for heights last week, by taking part in a charity abseil from the college's roof.

More than 40 students, as well as several lecturers, members of the college's administration staff and a group of students from South Wilts Grammar School, braved the climb to the top of the college's three-storey building, before abseiling back down.

The event, which was overseen by soldiers from the parachute display team of the 14th Regiment, Royal Artillery, was organised in aid of the Mayor's Appeal and the intrepid abseilers managed to raise more than £1,500.
