THE selection of this year's Carnival Queen and Princess for Verwood will take place next month.
The Princess selection will be at 2pm on March 16 at the Verwood Guide Headquarters, with the Queen selection to follow at 3.30pm.
Candidates for princesses must be aged nine to 14 years and candidates for Queen must be aged 15 to 25 years Both must either live or attend school in Verwood. Just turn up on the day.
A spokesman for the carnival committee said: "Like last year, there's no parading in front of people involved so the girls have no need to be nervous.
"It will be a very informal process - just a little chat with the judges who are looking for enthusiasm, personality and involvement in the community.
We ask that the girls please make sure they are available May Bank Holiday Monday before entering - just in case."
