Two youths have been arrested after a group threw eggs and assaulted someone in Queen Elizabeth Gardens on Tuesday (July 19).

Salisbury Police received reports that a group of youths were throwing eggs in Queen Elizabeth Gardens, at the entrance to Town Path, at approximately 5pm.

A member of the public was assaulted and had his headphones stolen after he challenged the group on their behaviour.

Two youths have been identified by police and have since been arrested in connection with the incident.

Both have been released on bail with conditions not to attend the city centre, Harnham, or be in a group environment of more than two people.

Police say there will be an increased police presence in and around Salisbury city centre, Queen Elizabeth Gardens, and Harnham over the summer period.

The force is urging anyone who has concerns regarding this group of youths to contact police via 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress.
