POLICE officers "are aware of a group of people" who have based themselves on private land in Amesbury.
The action was made public by police at around 10am today, July 17.
The group in question has based itself on Holders Field.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We are aware of a group of people who have based themselves on Holders Field, Amesbury.
"We have engaged with the group and have liaised with the local authority, who are the landowners, and the lead agency.
"Please be reassured that our officers will continue to monitor the situation and respond to any concerns from the local community."
