A SALISBURY cookery and homeware store “is over the moon” after winning two prestigious retailer awards.
Dinghams, run by sisters Nicola and Becca Hardingham, was last week named ‘Independent Retailer of the Year’ and ‘Cookshop of the Year’, at The Housewares Awards 2022.
This special event, this year held on July 7, recognises excellence across the housewares sector, celebrating innovative manufacturers and exceptional retailers.
The pair took over the store near the Market Place in 2017, and, despite the impact from the Novichok poisonings and Covid-19, the store is now stronger than ever, reflected by these accolades.
Operating from its two-story store in the heart of the city, the business’s success includes running an e-commerce version of the store online.
Following the win at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel in London, Nicola, creative director, said: “We were so proud to be shortlisted but when we won, not only one but two awards, we were over the moon.
“It was such a good atmosphere at the awards event, and so nice to see fellow suppliers and retailers.”
The awards were also attended by fellow colleague and family member Sarah Hardingham, auntie to the pair.
Becca, managing director, said she “couldn’t be more proud of the fantastic team”.
Explaining a main focus for the business, she said: “Dinghams is a destination for cooking and homeware enthusiasts, so forecasting the latest cooking, baking and lifestyle trends, as well as current colour and kitchen trends, ensures our product range is bang up-to-date.”
