Two people have been arrested after a series of burglaries.
The arrests come after a joint investigation by Wiltshire Police and Dorset Police, who have been investigating a number of non-dwelling burglaries, including in and around the south of Wiltshire and the A36 corridor around Warminster.
A 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were arrested in Dorset today (Tuesday, July 12) in connection with these offences. They are currently in police custody awaiting interview.
Detective Sergeant Darren Penny, from the Op Fortitude team, who have been working with Dorset Police, said: "This is a fantastic example of cross-border policing, with our officers working closely with their counterparts at Dorset Police to link these offences together and identify suspects.
"We know that burglary, whether it is people’s homes, outbuildings, businesses or garages being broken into, has a huge impact on the victims and we want people to know that it is something we take seriously and are working incredibly hard to track down offenders.
"We now have two people in custody thanks to some great collaborative work."
Sergeant Lee Turner, of Dorset Police’s Rural Crime Team, added: "We are committed to working with our colleagues in neighbouring forces to take robust action against those suspected of being responsible for offences across county borders.
"Through sharing information and taking proactive action, we were able to effect these arrests and progress the investigations."
