A MOTORCYCLE and a van were involved in a collision on the A303 near Amesbury yesterday (Monday, July 11). 

The incident was reported to Wiltshire Police at around 5.50pm. 

The road was closed in both directions between the A345 at Amesbury and the A360 Druid's Lodge. 

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We received a call around 5.50pm yesterday following a two-vehicle collision between a motorcyclist and a van on the A303 near Amesbury.

“Nobody was believed to be seriously injured and the road was clear around 7.30pm.”

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) sent both air and land ambulances to the scene. 

One patient was taken to Salisbury District Hospital by land ambulance. 

A spokesperson for SWASFT said: “We were called at 5.57PM on Monday, July 11 to an incident near Amesbury. The resources we sent included an air ambulance, a double-crewed land ambulance and a rapid response vehicle and we conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Salisbury District Hospital.”
