A teenager was punched in the face and struck with a crutch during an altercation which spilled out onto the road stopping traffic.

Police say the incident happened at around 3.50pm on Saturday, July 9 in Fordingbridge. 

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "It is alleged that a large group of young people have become involved in an altercation outside of the George Pub.

During the altercation, it is reported that a 15-year-old boy was assaulted after being punched in the face and struck with a crutch. This had spilled out onto the road causing traffic to stop.

"This resulted in him suffering injuries to his face and back.

"The group then quickly dissipated from the area, fleeing the scene."

Officers have carried out initial enquiries but are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, filmed it on their mobile phone or who may have dash-cam or head-cam footage to please contact police.
