A NEW set of overnight closures have been announced as part of the A31 roadworks at Ringwood.
As reported, following the successful demolition of both bridges on the A31 there will be a week of overnight closures on the eastbound carriageway.
These will come into effect on Monday, July 11, lasting until Friday 15 from 9pm to 6am each evening. This is in order for crews to carry out essential drainage works and the closure will be located between the Ashley Heath roundabout and the M21 J1 at Cadnam.
National Highways has since announced further closures the following week on the nearby Mansfield Road, which is the first direct link from the A31 into the centre of Ringwood.
The overnight closure of Mansfield Road is for resurfacing work and will last between Monday, July 18 to Friday 22. The road will be closed northbound between the Furlong roundabout and the Ringwood junction between 9pm and 6am, with a diversion via Southampton Road and the Poulner junction.
The road will be open as usual for traffic heading south into Ringwood.
Further overnight closures of the A31 westbound lanes (towards Bournemouth) are also planned for mid-August, with the dates to be confirmed soon.
National Highways said: “Work is currently on programme and we expect to reopen the A31 westbound by the end of November.”
