Fuel prices in Salisbury are forcing motorists to pay at least 189.9p per litre of unleaded petrol despite wholesale prices decreasing.
Record-high prices are hitting diesel car drivers harder as they are forced to pay at least 196.9p per litre, with the average price in Salisbury being much higher.
As the cost of living crisis rages on, more people are looking to for ways to save money where possible.
The Journal has recorded the prices of local petrol stations to help inform your next trip to fill up.
As of 2pm on Thursday, July 7, the cheapest place to fill up is Tesco Extra, Southampton Road.

- Tesco Extra, Southampton Road - 189.9p for unleaded - 196.9 for diesel
- BP, Wilton Road, Shell, Wilton Road, and Shell, Waitrose - 189.9p for unleaded - 198.9p for diesel
- Esso, Southampton Road - 192.9p for unleaded - 198.9p for diesel
- BP, Downton Road, BP, London Road and Murco, High Post Filling Station - 193.9p for unleaded - 199.9p for diesel
Despite fuel prices soaring, the wholesale price for both petrol and diesel is declining.
According to the RAC Foundation, a motoring research organisation, as of July 6 the wholesale price of petrol is 130p per litre and diesel is 134p per litre.
These prices are a significant drop from their peak just a few weeks ago when petrol's wholesale price was 149p per litre (June 6) and diesel was 151p per litre (June 21).
Retail prices take into consideration product cost, fuel duty, delivery and distribution, margins and VAT.
