A HAMPSHIRE man has been killed in a snowboarding accident in the French Alps.
The 40-year-old died yesterday after falling 80m (260ft) from rocks in the popular Val d'Isere ski resort, the Forest Journal understands.
Police in the region have confirmed the man, who is not being officially named but is thought to be a father of two, died following the accident at 1.30pm.
He had been boarding alone and off-piste.
Val d'Isere is famous for its long season, high altitude skiing and historic village centre.
