MILITARY personnel will soon be arriving in Salisbury ready for Armed Forces Day which takes place on Sunday (June 26) in Salisbury Market Place.

Salisbury Reds have just announced their support by offering free travel for serving personnel and veterans. They can travel for free all day on Saturday June 25 providing they wear their uniform, medals or are able to show a military ID card.

“People in this region are rightfully proud of our country’s military - as is our team here in Wiltshire,” said Salisbury Reds managing director, Andrew Wickham. “As part of this community, we are keen to show our support for service men and women.

“The work our troops have done in the past, and still do now, in unimaginably hostile war zones is incredibly humbling. And we want to recognise their efforts even in this small way to help them travel to events or to see family and friends on Armed Forces Day.”

The event starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm on Sunday and helps to promote morale within the armed forces. There will be military stalls, charities, street performers, and live music.

Salisbury Reds has also announced discounted group travel on Sunday June 26 for five people travelling together. The discount is valid for Salisbury Reds and X3 buses.
