HOUSEHOLDERS in south Wiltshire face a 4.5 per cent rise this year in the bill they pay for services provided by Salisbury District Council.
But the increase, which works out at 11p a week extra for the average Band D council taxpayer, is the lowest for seven years and will help finance a budget that - if approved by the full council - will see an additional £714,000 of investment being pumped into services.
The budget and 4.5 per cent increase was agreed by the council's cabinet last night and will go to the full council for a final say on February 18.
