A Salisbury man has been fined more than £400 for littering a cigarette butt.
Vincent Daly, 54, of Wilton Road, committed the offence on October 16 last year in Fisherton Street.
On March 7, Portsmouth Magistrates Court fined him £220 and ordered him to pay a £34 surcharge and £155 in costs.
The verdict was proved by single justice procedure – where a magistrate deals with the case on the basis of the papers alone without either party having to attend court for a hearing.
