The incident occurred on Sunday (March 27), in Fisherton Street at around 9.45pm.

Police said a car was thought to have been deliberately driven at pedestrians.

A man and a woman were hit by the car, which may have been a blue Skoda, which mounted the pavement before driving off.

They were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A police cordon was in place yesterday morning from just after Water Lane to before North Street, where officers were investigating the scene.

Wiltshire Police said yesterday that the incident is not being treated as an act of terrorism but questions remain around the motive.
