Cllr Dr Mark McClelland, Cabinet Member for Transport, said: “Since launching the consultation a week ago many people will have read the consultation material and will have questions about the proposals.

"These public events, including a live public webinar, present a great opportunity for these questions to be answered by the project team.

“These projects celebrate Salisbury. A more welcoming and attractive Station Forecourt will ensure visitors and residents have a greater sense of arrival and anticipation of all that Salisbury can offer.

"Then as they stroll down a more pleasant Fisherton Street they are enticed by the unique local and original independent shops and restaurants Salisbury is known for.

"Through these improved experiences we hope people spend more time in the city and support the wide range of shops, cafes and bars only found in this modern medieval city.”

The consultation

The consultation closes at 5pm on Tuesday April 19. The council says all feedback gathered will be used to develop the detailed designs for these two schemes.
