SEVERAL businesses in Fordingbridge were targeted by thieves over the weekend.

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that it had received "multiple reports of business burglaries in the Fordingbridge area over the weekend".

All of the incidents were on High Street.

The Dolls House Restaurant and Tearoom was broken into between 4pm on Saturday (March 12) and 8am on Sunday (March 13).

Police say a till containing a quantity of cash and a number of vouchers were stolen (crime reference 44220100700 ).

In the post on Sunday, Sharon Buckland, who runs The Dolls House Restaurant and Tearoom, said: "Sadly today the Dolls House along with other shops in Fordingbridge were targeted and broken into.

"Just wanted to thank all the lovely people today that helped me clean up and support me when I was heartbroken and in tears it’s so nice to know there are still lovely people in this world.

"The Dolls House will be back open again on Tuesday for business as usual. Thank you all Fordingbridge for your continued support through these really tough times that one way or another we each have been affected."

Between 8pm on Saturday (March 12) and 8am on Sunday (March 13) there was an attempted burglary at Carl Hillwood Hair and Beauty.

A front door was smashed, but no entry was gained to the premises.

The Cottage Loaf was also broken into and it is alleged that scones and hot cross buns were stolen. The burglary happened at around 4.05am on Sunday (crime reference 44220100708).

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "Officers are currently investigating the following incidents and conducting initial lines of enquiry.

"Anyone with information relating to these incidents is asked to call 101, quoting the respective crime reference numbers.

"Alternatively, you can submit information via the following form hampshire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report."
