WORK will start soon to repair damage at a block of flats which was caused by a fallen tree.

The tree came down on the roof of Wyld House on Tollgate Road in Salisbury during Storm Eunice on Friday.

A crane was brought in to remove the tree on Saturday.

Salisbury Journal:

Cllr Phil Alford, Wiltshire Council's cabinet member for housing, said: “The removal of the tree at Wyld House on Saturday involved great team work to get it removed so quickly in difficult conditions, and we are very glad that nobody was hurt by the incident.

Salisbury Journal:

"Following further inspections of the building on Monday, we arranged for the occupiers of the two evacuated flats to return to their properties. Work will begin to repair the external damage to the building as soon as possible.”
