A 28-year-old Salisbury man is to be sentenced for an upskirting offence committed at Government site Porton Down.
Gregory Stephen Bransgrove, of Westwood Road, Salisbury, will be sentenced for taking an image underneath the clothing of private areas that would not otherwise be visible, with the intention of either himself or a third person to look at for obtaining sexual gratification.
The offence took place on July 21 2021, at the Government military science park on the outskirts of Salisbury.
He has been remanded on conditional bail until appearing in Salisbury Magistrates Court on March 14. Conditions include he must not directly or indirectly contact the victim.
The adjournment reason was for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
'Upskirting' is a fairly new law that came into force in 2019, banning the taking of intrusive pictures underneath a person's clothing without their consent.
Offenders face up to 2 years in prison, with the most serious cases put on the sex offenders register.
The Voyeurism Act outlaws upskirting where the purpose is to obtain sexual gratification, or to cause humiliation, distress or alarm.
