A FORDINGBRIDGE man has been arrested after an attempted burglary.
Police say at around 10.15pm on Wednesday (February 2) residents of a property on Kings Arms Lane were alerted to a noise outside in their rear garden.
A man was seen to be searching a shed in the garden and was spoken to by the homeowner and fled the scene.
Nothing has been reported as being stolen.
Officers were sent to the scene and after initial house-to-house and CCTV enquiries, located a man matching the description provided by the victim a short distance from the property.
A 42-year-old man from Fordingbridge was arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal.
